Ten skincare mistakes: Microdermabrasion can help

Acne can affect almost everyone at any age. When your hair follicles get clogged with dead skin cells and oil, it causes pimples, whiteheads, or blackheads. It usually appears on your face but can also appear on your shoulder, chest, and upper back. It can also cause deep scars if it gets bad.

Ten skincare routines that can make your acne worse

  1. Trying a new product every week: Trying new products every week can irritate your skin, causing breakouts. Any product you use needs time to work.

Recommendation: You should use a product for 5-8 weeks and then expect the results. But if you don’t see any results by then, only in that case can you try another product.

  1. Applying acne products only to your blemishes: Many people use them only on their blemishes, but this procedure cannot prevent new breakouts.

Recommendation: You can prevent new blemishes by spreading a thin product layer on your acne-prone skin, which will prevent breakouts.

  1. Using beauty products that cause acne: Some makeup products, including skin care and hair care products, contain oil and other ingredients that can breakout acne. Continuous use of such products can continuously cause acne.

Recommendation: Use products labeled “won’t clog pores” or “non-comedogenic.” Such products mainly don’t cause acne.

  1. Sharing makeup applicators: Using makeup applicators like makeup brushes or blenders can lead to blemishes even if you use non-comedogenic products. When you share makeup or its applicator, the oil, dead skin cells, and acne-causing bacteria of other person’s skin can wind up in your makeup. Then, when you do your makeup, those bacteria get transferred to your skin that clogs your pores resulting in breakouts.

Recommendation: Do not share your makeup products or the applicator with anyone else.

  1. Sleep without removing the makeup: A non-comedogenic makeup product can also cause acne or blemishes if you sleep in it.

Recommendation: You should remove makeup before sleeping. If you want to wash your face, you can use a non-comedogenic makeup remover towelette.

  1. Washing your face throughout the day: Your skin can get irritated if you wash your face several times during a day resulting in breakouts.

Recommendation: Wash your face twice a day, when you wake up in the morning, before going to bed at night, and after an exercise.

  1. Scrubbing your skin: Many people wash their skin to get rid of acne, but continuous scrubbing can aggravate your skin, causing acne to flare up.

Recommendation: Be gentle while scrubbing or washing your acne-prone skin. It would help if you used a non-comedogenic and mild cleanser.

  1. Drying your skin: Acne is caused mainly by oily skin, so many people are tempted to apply acne treatment and astringent until their face is dehydrated. But dry skin can become more irritating and is more prone to acne or breakouts.

Recommendation: Use the acne treatment as directed. Applying a moisturizer can help if your skin feels dry.

  1. Squeeze or pop breakouts: When you squeeze or pop your acne, you try to push the dead skin cells, bacteria, or pus out of your skin, causing inflammation. It can lead to scarring, pain, and more noticeable acne.

Recommendation: Do not squeeze or pop your acne. Use your medication to get rid of acne. You should consult a dermatologist to clear your acne if you have painful and deep acne.

  1. Rubbing sweat during workout: Many people use a towel to rub the sweat during exercise roughly. Unfortunately, it can aggravate your skin resulting in breakouts.

Recommendation: During the workout, use a clean and soft towel to pat the sweat from your skin gently.

There are several treatments for acne, including microdermabrasion.

Microdermabrasion is an effective and safe method to eliminate acne without pain. In addition, it allows you to carry on with your day after the procedure.

Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure that renews your skin tone and texture. This procedure is used to rejuvenate your skin. It uses a mild abrasive device to smooth the uneven layer of skin by spraying the delicate crystals that are later suctioned away, similar to exfoliation.

Microdermabrasion can help you in-

  • Treating acne scars
  • Reducing dark patches
  • Improving age spots
  • Lessening stretch marks
  • Reducing large pores

The procedure is painless and safe, and there is no downtime. However, your skin can feel tight and dry for a day or two, so be sure to keep moisturizing your skin.

Every woman wants a clear face. However, you can avoid these tips to worsen acne and contact a dermatologist with microdermabrasion procedures for treating your acne.
